Tea at the Oast is unique as it is in our family home, my parents generously let me use our kitchen for all the cooking and open up literally in our dining room. It is only small inside but that allows us to offer a personal service.
I opened Tea at the Oast in May 2009 serving cream teas at the weekends. I have gradually built up the business offering a wider range of food including breakfasts, lunches, afternoon teas and the popular Roast at the Oast and Dinner at the Oast. I have also provided outside catering for lots of different events.
In 2014 I had to close the tea rooms for a little while but I carried on baking cakes and lots of cooking. In that time I also bought a vintage 1974 Bedford Ice Cream Van which I have restored to retain its original features and paintwork. Mimi the Ice Cream Van is available to hire for private functions and photoshoots. We have tied in the retro theme of the van inside the tea room which is all mismatched and quirky, giving a unique experience.
The Oast House was built in 1897 and was converted into a house in the 1960's
